The Critter Ball was last night and it could not have gone better. We raised over $33k for the Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA and we danced as well as we possibly could… and WE WON! The Mirror Ball Trophy is ours and we are so glad to have been able to support such a worthy cause as the CASPCA.
I wanted to thank each and every person who contributed and supported our campaign. I met so many terrific and generous people and I’ve made many new friends.
Please continue to support the Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA and take care of all the furry critters at the shelter. These wonderful animals need our help. If you want a new companion, go to http://www.caspca.org and look at the adoptables they have available. If you have pet food, collars, leashes that you can donate – If you have time to walk the shelter dogs, play with the kitties and puppies – If you could take a foster animal until they are old enough or well enough to be adopted – PLEASE help out the SPCA. A no-kill shelter for 5 years and we want it to stay that way.
Now for the fun! Check out Robin Grimsby of Spin City Dance Studio and I as we dance our way into a WIN!! Then, my acceptance speech.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
I have to say how tremendously grateful I am for the support i’ve received from businesses for my Rocks 4 Rover campaign to raise money for the Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA. We’ve just received a few new sponsors that I would like to mention to you:
Double Tree Charlottesville – $1000
Lee Insurance – $250
Charlottesville Condo Management – $100
In addition to previous donors Dixon Disposal, Sammy Snacks and ACAC; the folks at Cavalier Produce will be donating 5% of their sales to the CASPCA on behalf of Rocks4Rover on October 4th. How great is that?!! If other business would do the same, we could raise SO MUCH money for our furry friends.
If you’re feeling generous, please think of me first 🙂
But seriously… I ROCK! Or haven’t you heard?
Hey there fans and followers of CorbinRocks4Rover. The below video blogs are here for your entertainment. Dear Robin Grimsby of Spin City Dance Studio has been working diligently with me and I HOPE that I’m getting better. Take a look at all 3 videos below and let me know what YOU think.
I know I said I ‘rock 4 rover,’ but I will absolutely bust a move for bunnies!!! Check out this adorable little guy named Ranger, in our “Adoptable Spotlight” this week.
Ranger is quite the explorer! Like most bunnies, he’s a big fan of being held and has a very independent nature. Ranger’s foster posted photos of him, his brothers and his sisters when they were too young to be adopted. Since then, they were brought to the shelter and Ranger’s mom and little Ranger are the only ones in the family who still need a fur-ever home.
Please check out Ranger and consider making his fuzzy face a permanent fixture in your home! As always, visit www.caspca.org for more information and other adoptables.
Oh yes, I’m dancing alright. Not only dancing, but working out with my good friends at ACAC. Burning fat, building muscle and breakin a sweat. Speaking of breaking a sweat, could it GET any hotter??? I feel like we’re on the surface of the sun.
But, this is a VIDEO BLOG, so I’ll stop with the small talk and deliver the video. Have fun.
I had my very first dancing lesson yesterday at the Spin City Dance Studio in Orange. Robin Grimsby is my new partner and yesterday was SO MUCH FUN! Robin set up her video camera on the tri-pod, so I will be able to share her video with you soon. Up till now, my dancing prowess has consisted of just a little hip shaking and toe tapping… the occasional leap in the air. But this is serious stuff this dancing – and I really think I’m going to enjoy it.
Robin is terrific and I’m hoping she’ll agree to be a guest blogging on the Rocks 4 Rover site in the future so you’ll get some behind-the-scenes information about the bruises that I’ll probably inflict on her toes. Robin gives lessons in all sorts of dance moves at her studio in Orange, she’ll also host dance parties and (obviously) graciously volunteers to dance for REALLY worthy fundraisers (ie CASPCA Critter Ball Dancing With the Stars).
Within two years of starting to dance, Robin was winning Gold medals and top placements in her division. She is now ranked in a very competitive division called “All-Stars.” This is a level above Advanced where she dances with and against other pros and semi-pros. It remains important to Robin to continue competing in her division and moving up. It challenges her to work on her dancing at all times and to serve as a positive example to her students. Eight years later, she is dancing Pro-Am competitions with her students who are now winning Gold medals of their own!
Stay tuned for the video and if you like what you see and want to dance like ME, give Robin a call at 540.460.2101. Guys and Gals alike can learn the move and shake like they’ve been doing it all of their lives. Give it a shot.
Toodles for now. Catch you on the flip side.
